4 Tips to a reduce stress in your life

There are many factors that contribute to stress in our lives – whether it is struggling to get on top of work-life balance or battling against negative and self-critical thoughts-we can get trapped in negative patterns that sap our energy. Freedom is possible. Here are some useful strategies:

  1. Drop the Story

We easily become the victims of the stories we spin in our heads and of our negative thoughts. This causes us to feel anxious and erodes our sense of well-being. Talking about our problems is our greatest addiction. Break the habit. Try talking about your joys instead. Keeping a journal can be very helpful.


  1. Let Go of unhelpful habits

One of the most empowering moments in life is when we have the courage to let go of things that do not serve us well. Take control of your life.  Manage  your work- life balance and make sure your goals and time frames are realistic.

Stop trying to please everyone, because it’s pointless.  Stay grounded in yourself and don’t let the noise of other people’s opinions drown out your inner voice.

  1. Do something physical

Make the time to go hiking, dancing, working in the garden, swimming, or whatever makes you feel alive. Make self-care a habit.


  1. Take time in nature to refresh your spirit

Go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have your senses put in order. Stand under a tree and see how it can replenish you.  Give yourself permission to rest and take time to embrace the wonders and mysteries of life. We often achieve more by doing less.

We can change a lifetime of habits through journal writing and having a special journal is a treasure.
